Melat Kiros is a proudly anti-American Democrat immigrant who is supposedly in the United States legally because her family was a winner in the "Diversity Visa Lottery" (yes, there really is such a thing). Kiros is one of numerous ultra-liberal racists who are campaigning for Congress this year on the basis of, first and foremost, "Unmask, Prosecute, Abolish ICE!!!". She feels this is valid because that agency "is quite literally murdering innocent people in broad daylight", these so-called murders occurring due to what she calls "severe racism and Islamophobia".
One little problem for this Ethiopian dingbat is that the Denver-based district (Colorado's CD-1) she wishes to be represent already has another foreign-born and thoroughly anti-American Democrat representing it.
That would be far-left Democrat Diana DeGette (lifetime liberal rating: 97%), who has been in Congress since her predecessor, Patsy Schroeder, former CD-1 representative and one-time presidential candidate, decided to hang it up in 1996. But DeGette is DeGetting old (she's 68) and may be vulnerable to a well-funded challenge from the even-farther left.
In districts like these you wouldn't think things could get worse, but they can and nearly always do. When an old ultra-liberal Democrat like DeGette, in a thoroughly safe district (this one is D+30), retires or is ousted from office, the new, younger radical leftist is always much worse than the old bull it is replacing.

Here's an upcoming case of a district that will be making the journey from bad to worse, which few may have noticed because it happened so recently:
"Bad-to-worse" is exactly what's going to happen in the New Jersey special election in April which will fill the currently vacant U.S. House seat (NJ-11) of new Governor Mikie Sherrill. The very upscale and somewhat moderate-leaning D+5 district is going to be won by a greasy Bernie Sanders-worshipping socialist insect named Analilia Mejia (fawning Wikipedia profile of Mejia is here), who narrowly defeated ex-congressman Tom Malinowski in the Democrat primary last week. The Republican in this race has no chance at all, even though the district is almost in tossup territory under normal conditions.
Malinowski -- like DeGette -- is nearly 100% liberal. But he is not enough of a hate-filled "lynch all Republicans, especially ICE"-type which is now quite fashionable (if not mandatory) among the lunatic left, and that was what sunk him in the February 5 Democrat primary.
Other old Rats who are in their final House terms in 2026 will all be replaced by something much worse in 2027. You can count on it. In the recent past, old-time liberal Democrats like Jim McDermott, Dan Lipinski, Michael Capuano, Mike Doyle, Bill Clay and Joe Crowley (that list is far from complete) were replaced by others from their party who are every bit as far to the left, but who are younger and more vigorous in their righteous and virtuous hatreds than the tired oldsters.
Looking ahead to 2027, many new hate-filled liberals will be replacing old ones as illustrated in the following table. These seats are all utterly safe enough that no Democrat primary candidate will even consider faking towards the center in anticipation of a truly conteted general election; the real race is to see who can get farthest to the left. November will be anticlimactic in all of these districts aside from perhaps those three in California, where two Democrats (and zero Republicans) may face off in November.
